Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is an honor and pleasure to invite you to the 1st Symposium of the Vienna Center for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases taking place in Vienna on February 19-20, 2016, as a joint scientific meeting together with the 3rd International Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases Meeting.
CeRUD - Vienna Center for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases
The Vienna Center for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases has been established in 2014 through a joint initiative of the Medical University of Vienna and the CeMM Research Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, to concentrate biomedical, genetic and technology resources and competencies to advance the rare disease research in Austria and interconnect with the international rare disease network required to provide the affected individuals with the best possible interdisciplinary diagnostic analysis and care.
Focus on Rare Diseases
Once neglected by the society and pharmaceutical industry, due to recent technological advancements and progress in our understanding of the human genome, research efforts on rare and undiagnosed diseases now receive full attention and point the way toward a new era in diagnosis and personalized treatment options.
Sequencing human genomes for medical purposes already yields enormous amount of data for analysis and interpretation. The interactions of experts locally and globally are needed to tackle the problem. Are we ready to take the challenge?
The CeRUD Symposium
The 1st Symposium of the Vienna Center for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases will bring together some leading thinkers in rare disease research from around the world together with the local experts to discuss the new concepts of research and treatment in the field of rare diseases. The Symposium will be a joint one together with the 3rd International Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases Meeting. It intends to cover various aspects of rare diseases from diagnostic options, molecular disease characterization, data analysis and safe sharing, advancement of patient tailored therapeutic approaches and the challenge to the modern society.
On behalf of CeRUD and the organization committee I cordially invite you to through your participation make the 1st Symposium of the Vienna Center for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases an unforgettable event!
